When a 1,000-gallon tank is actually due

Three people and 1,000 gallons lands near five years. A wet lid does not wait for that date.

The pump-interval estimate uses three quarters of the tank and about 50 gallons of solids per person per year. A 1,000-gallon tank with three people is 750 usable gallons divided by 150, which is five years.

That number is a planning date. A gurgling toilet, a spongy patch over the field, or sewage at the lid means the truck comes now. Wes writes down both the interval and the symptom.

If the caller does not know the gallons, the last pumper’s invoice or the lid stamp is enough. Wes does not guess a 1,500-gallon tank from a three-bedroom house.
